BIG ROCK

25th annual Community Interfaith Crop Walk

2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Big Rock Community Park, Rhodes Avenue and Sixth Street in Big Rock. Sign-in is at 1:15 p.m. and the walk will step off at 2 p.m. Churches in Sandwich, Somonauk, Leland, Hinckley and Big Rock will participate. Locally, the walk helps the Hinckley Food Pantry and Our Sharing Pantry in Sandwich. Information: www.crophungerwalk.org

MILLBROOK

Harvest Breakfast

7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Millbrook United Methodist Church, 8360 Fox River Drive. The church will serve an all-you-can-eat meal of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. Coffee and juice are included. A donation of $8 is requested.

The Recycling Hour

Annual Fargo Chill ’N Grill
Skate Event

2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Skate Park in Milestone Park, 1375 Castle St. Fargo Skate Shop and the Sandwich Park District will host an afternoon of raffles, food, tricks, jumps and more. Indian Valley Community Band

Cornerstone Church Food Pantry

12:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month – next, Oct. 1 – at Cornerstone Church, 17347 Pratt Road. Cornerstone provides food for families in Sandwich, Somonauk, Plano and Sheridan. Identification and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, are required.

Study Hour

After School Martial Arts Program

3:30 to 4:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Sandwich Park District. Ages K-12 can learn self defense. Classes taught by BH Martial Arts School. Cost is $40 a month and includes uniform. Register at https://sandwichparkdistrict.org.

The Reading Pros

Scrap Metal Collection

Community Shred Day
