Mid Summer Showdown

Noon Saturday, July 27, at Sandwich Fairgrounds, 1401 Suydam Road. The event includes a cruise night, live music, kids’ pedal pull, Illinois State Pullers Tractor and Truck Pulls, beer tent, food and more. The Recycling Hour

Noon to 1 p.m. the fourth Saturday of the month – next, July 27 – at the Sandwich Public Library, 925 S. Main St. The library will recycle items such as plastic bags, ink cartridges, batteries and more.

End of SRP Awards Show

1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Sandwich Public Library, 925 S. Main St. Celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program. The inflatable Obstacle Course will open at 1 p.m. Grand prize winners will be announced at 2 p.m. along with secondary prize winners. A water balloon fight will start at 2:30 p.m.

“The Snow Queen”

Stone Mill Museum Hours

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Stone Mill Museum, 315 E. Railroad St. The museum is filled with local memorabilia, antique furniture, farm tools and items that were manufactured locally. Members of the Sandwich Historical Society act as guides. No admission; donations appreciated.

Free Lunch at the Library

12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Sandwich Public Library, 925 S. Main St. The library is collaborating with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to offer free lunches throughout the summer to children ages 18 and younger. A limited number of lunches will be available.
