Millbrook Spring Blast Country Breakfast

7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Millbrook United Methodist Church, 8360 Fox River Drive. All-you-can-eat meal of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, coffee and juice. A donation of $8 is requested.

Medicare Informational Seminar

10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 9, at the Newark Fire Department, 101 E. Main St. Hosted by state Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris. Medicare experts will discuss who is eligible, what it covers, and how to get help with out-of-pocket costs. The event is free and open to all seniors. New and current beneficiaries are welcome. No RSVP required.

Open Roads ABATE

New Life for Old Bags

10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month – next, July 13 – at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. Stone Mill Museum Hours

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Stone Mill Museum, 315 E. Railroad St. The museum is filled with local memorabilia, antique furniture, farm tools and items that were manufactured locally. Members of the Sandwich Historical Society act as guides. No admission; donations appreciated.

Cornerstone Church Food Pantry

12:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month – next, July 2 – at Cornerstone Church, 17347 Pratt Road. Cornerstone provides food for families in Sandwich, Somonauk, Plano and Sheridan. Identification and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, are required.

The Reading Pros

Creative Yarns

Freedom Run 5K, 1-mile
and Tot Trot

Sunday, July 7, at James Knights Park, 1001 Latham St. Sponsored by the Sandwich Park District, the Tot Trot begins at 7:45 a.m., the Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. The Tot Trot is free for ages 5 and younger. The fee is $22 for the Fun Run/Walk and $28 for the 5K. Register at Knights Park or online at www.sandwichparkdistrict.org.
