NORWAY

Taste of Norway

8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Norway Community Building on Route 71. Breakfast benefits the Norsk Museum in Norway. The menu includes fried kumla and ham, Norwegian waffles with lingonberries, Guma, Lefse, Kringla and coffee. Also, samples of modern Norwegian fare will include open-face sandwiches, fish, hard-boiled eggs and brown cheese. Tickets in advance cost $8 for adults and $5 for children younger than 8. Plano Heritage Festival

11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, in downtown Plano and the John Street parking lot. There will be activities for children, vendors, a beer garden, food and live music. Admission is $5. Dog Days of Summer

2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Independent students entering grades 1-9 can practice reading aloud to a certified therapy dog. Stop by beginning 20 minutes before the program starts to get a number to hold a place in line.

New Life for Old Bags

10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month – next, June 8 – at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. Walking “The Way” (El Camino)

Swing Dance

“Dairies to Prairies” documentary

“The Norway Murder Mystery”
