Lions Club’s annual scrap metal drive set for April 27

The Sandwich Lions Club will conduct its spring scrap metal collection from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 27, in the city parking lot across from City Hall and east of the gazebo.

This is offered as a service to the community and a benefit for the Lions Club. Residents are offered a convenient way to dispose of unwanted metal items. The club, in turn, sells the items to a recycler to help support club activities.

While cleaning out basements, garages and sheds, keep in mind that the Lions will accept any type of metal, including iron, aluminum, copper and brass. Metal items can include, but are not limited to, lawn mowers, grills, aluminum windows and doors, gutters, siding, pipes, cast iron boilers, furnaces, stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators. The Lions reserve the right to refuse any items they are unable to handle.

Pickup service can be arranged by calling Bob at 815-719-0079. This service is available throughout the year.
