Economic development projects for the Village of Hinckley are now a step closer to begin after the DeKalb County Community Foundation presented a $10,000 grant check as the final phase of the Community Economic Development Grant at the March 11 village board meeting.

The planning phase of this grant has already allowed Hinckley to create an economic plan specifically for the village through the assistance and work of the Northern Illinois University Center for Governmental Studies.

The goal in both of the Harvesting Our Future planning and implementing priority projects is to revitalize and further develop Hinckley’s local economy, making the village more attractive for businesses, visitors and residents.
