Charles B. Phillips Library earns national recognition

The Library Journal has announced that the Charles B. Phillips Library in Newark has been named a 2018 4 Star Library.

There were 7,361 U.S. public libraries that scored on the LJ Index of Public Library Service; from that total, 257 were selected as Star Libraries, 21 coming from Illinois.

The index is based on per capita statistics: circulation, e-circulation, visits, program attendance and public computers users.

In a statement, the library staff said they would like to thank the community for their support in helping the library become a 4 Star Library.
