Plano American Legion post hosts quarter auction benefit

The Plano American Legion Auxiliary, Leon Burson Unit 395, recently hosted its second annual quarter auction. This year’s event benefited the Auxiliary's general funds account.

Attendees “bid” quarters on the value of over 50 donated gift baskets, gift certificates and handmade crafts. The Auxiliary raised $966 in vendor exhibit fees, admissions (paddle fees), donations and quarters collected from the players.

The committee thanks these direct sales vendors who both exhibited and donated product to the event: Vendors – Amy Powers, Paparazzi; Dawn Goodbred, Thirty One Gifts; Becky Nelson, Gold Canyon Candles; Tonya Weakley, Peddlers Den & Premier Designs Jewelry; Mary Morris, LuLaRoe; Nicole Begne, Necklaces by Nicole; and Jen Huber, Tupperware. Many area businesses and Legion members helped to bring donations to the event.

The Auxiliary is now working on holiday planning for December. Activities include assembly and delivering of members holiday shut in baskets and a membership Christmas party.
