The Kendall County State's Attorney Office has charged a Sandwich area man, Daniel Lee Aldrich, 61, of the 0-50 block of Sandra Lane, on charges of possession and dissemination of child pornography.
The county sheriff's office reported that Aldrich was arrested Oct. 25 and transported to the county jail in Yorkville. Aldrich's bond was set at $5,000, and he posted the 10 percent required and was released on Friday, Oct. 26, according to Kendall County Sheriff's Office records.
According to an email sent from Sandwich School District 430 Superintendent Rick Schmitt to parents, the district learned from law enforcement on Oct. 25 that Aldrich had been detained by police. Schmitt wrote that Aldrich was a bus driver for the district's Millington route.
"Officials do not believe any students from our district were victims of this alleged crime," Schmitt wrote. "The district is cooperating with the Kendall County State's Attorney’s Office and law enforcement officials."
Aldrich has been placed on unpaid leave, Schmitt wrote.
Sheriff's detectives began the investigation that led to Aldrich's arrest July 30 when they received information based on a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Sheriff's detectives gathered, collected and examined multiple items of evidence during their investigation, the sheriff's office reported.
