Homemade Norwegian desserts will be available at the Norwegian Smorgasbord.

This year’s Norwegian Smorgasbord will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Norway Community Center in Norway.

The Sons of Norway Cleng Peerson and Polar Star lodges are joining forces to make it the greatest one yet, all to benefit the Norsk Museum Building Fund.

The buffet feast offered will include Norwegian lutefisk, kumla, Jarlsburg cheese, pickled and creamed herring, meatballs with brown gravy, new red-skinned potatoes, cabbage, a huge variety of homemade salads, and desserts including kringla, lefse, waffles with lingonberries, fruit soup and rice pudding, accompanied by strong Norwegian coffee.

Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets early for either the 4 p.m. seating or the 5:30 p.m. seating. No tickets will be sold at the door. Advance tickets are $18 for adults and $7 for children 10 and younger. Carryouts are available.

Callt Dave Johnson, president of the Norsk Museum Board, at 815-343-5070 to reserve your seat. For more information about the museum, check out Norsk Museum on Facebook or norskmuseum.org.
