Indian Valley Community Band recently introduced its new director, Jeff Ford, who is replacing Dick Hart. Hart will continue to be a part of the band playing his trombone.

An accomplished saxophonist, Ford played at the band’s spring concert in April. He is owner of Jeff Ford Woodwind Repair, located in Oswego, and was the jazz band director at Waubonsee Community College for 29 years.

Indian Valley Community Band is looking for additional instruments to round out the group. Percussion, tuba, saxophone, trombone, horns of all types, low woodwinds, flute or clarinet, no matter what instrument you play, the band has a spot for you.

The band meets from 6 to 7:20 p.m. Monday evenings at the Sandwich Middle School band room, 600 S. Wells St., Sandwich. New musicians and former band members from the surrounding area are always welcome. Stop in at any rehearsal to check out this all-volunteer group that enjoys making music.

Indian Valley Community Band is rehearsing for a holiday concert to be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Sandwich Opera House.
