The Sandwich Lions Club will conduct their annual fall scrap metal collection from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, Oct. 6, in the city parking lot across from Sandwich City Hall and east of the gazebo.
This is offered as a service to the community and a benefit for the Lions Club. Residents are offered a convenient way to dispose of unwanted metal items. The club, in turn, sells the items to a recycler to help support Lion activities.
While cleaning out basements, garages and sheds, keep in mind that the Lions will accept any type of metal, including iron, aluminum, copper and brass. Metal items can include, but are not limited to, old lawn mowers, grills, aluminum windows and doors, gutters, siding, pipes, cast iron boilers, furnaces, stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators. The Lions reserve the right to refuse any items they are unable to handle.
Pickup service can be arranged by calling Bob at 815-719-0079 or Gary at 620-360-7611. This service is available throughout the year.
