PLANO

Messy Munchkins

10:30 to 11:15 a.m. or 6 to 6:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Little ones can squish and smush their way to the benefits of messy play. Children can enjoy as many of the activities as they’d like and stay for as little as 10 minutes or the full 45 minutes. For ages 0-5, with a grown-up. Pizza & Pages

Line Dancing and Lessons

New Life for Old Bags

10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month – next, Oct. 13 – at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. Seize the Day!

6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Five years after her 2004 cancer diagnosis, Jerri Lynn Baker stopped focusing on death and started seeking joy. Hear about her “Freakin 365+1” adventure in which she did something new every day for a year; and learn from her to take joy in the little things. No registration needed.

Ham Dinner

4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Sandwich VFW Post 1486, 713 S. Main St. Hosted by the Sandwich American Legion, the menu will include ham, cheesy potatoes, vegetable, dinner roll and dessert. Carryouts will be available.

Stone Mill Museum Hours

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Stone Mill Museum, 315 E. Railroad St. The museum is filled with is filled with local memorabilia, settings of rooms with antique furniture, farm tools and items that were manufactured locally. Members of the Sandwich Historical Society act as hosts, guiding visitors to areas of special interest. No admission, however donations are appreciated.

Monthly Dance

4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Sandwich Community Center, 1406 Suydam Road. Music will be provided by the Talk of the Town Swing band under the direction of Rob Nordli. This month, vocalist Barbara St. John will be featured. The band is composed of local musicians who enjoy playing music of the Big Band era. A cash bar will be available.

Indian Valley Community Band
