Allan and Jennifer McKee were the winners of a handmade quilt raffled off by Fox Valley Older Adult Services at their Paperbacks, Puzzles & Info Booth at this year’s Sandwich Fair.

This one-of-a-kind quilt was made and donated by Jean Slaughter and quilted by Judy Sprinkle.

Along with their booth, every year FVOAS with the Sandwich Fair Association hosts Meet Me at the Fair. Many fair attendees enjoyed meals at Grannie’s Eatery and were able to park at the special parking spots available in the parking lot right across the street from the fairgrounds.

Volunteers are the backbone of the 46-year success of FVOAS, which serves seniors in DeKalb, Kane, Kendall and LaSalle counties. All proceeds from the Sandwich Fair food building, booth and parking lot support seniors in programs that improve and enrich vital, independent living, enhance dignity and self-respect, and encourage participation in community life.
