Stone Mill Museum Hours

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Stone Mill Museum, 315 E. Railroad St. The museum is filled with is filled with local memorabilia, settings of rooms with antique furniture, farm tools and items that were manufactured locally. Members of the Sandwich Historical Society act as hosts, guiding visitors to areas of special interest. No admission, however donations are appreciated.

“Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Auditions

2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, in the Community Room at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. There are 27 speaking roles, 10 for adults and 17 for school-aged actors. There also will be a choir of youngsters singing throughout the show. The show runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 1, and is a benefit supporting the Gil Morrison Memorial Scholarship. Cornerstone Church Food Pantry

12:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month – next, Oct. 2 – at Cornerstone Church, 17347 Pratt Road. Cornerstone provides food for families in Sandwich, Somonauk, Plano and Sheridan. Identification and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, are required.

The Reading Pros

United Brat Fest

5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at United Church of Sandwich, 512 E. Lions Road. Cost for drive-thru dinner is $10 for two brats, coleslaw, sauerkraut, baked beans and cookie or $5 for hot dog, chips, apple and cookie. Monthly Dance

The Oct. 5 special is liver and onions, mashed potatoes and vegetable and includes the salad bar.
