DeKalb County Retired Teachers’ Association

NORWAY

165th Anniversary Celebration

4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Norway United Methodist Church, 2642 N. 3650th Road, Sheridan. Bishop Sally Dyck will dedicate the new steeple and there will be an open house with refreshments and displays starting. There also will be outdoor children’s activities at 4:30 p.m. The worship service will begin at 5:30 p.m. featuring a choir composed of the three co-op churches, a children’s message with magic by the Rev. Meyers, three generations of reflections, plus the message by the bishop.

Rosemaling Workshop

1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Norway Community Building, 3676 E. 2603rd Road in Sheridan. Beginners can learn the basics of this unique painting style in this free workshop. New Life for Old Bags

10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of each month – next, Sept. 8 – at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. Stone Mill Museum Hours

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Stone Mill Museum, 315 E. Railroad St. The museum is filled with is filled with local memorabilia, settings of rooms with antique furniture, farm tools and items that were manufactured locally. Members of the Sandwich Historical Society act as hosts, guiding visitors to areas of special interest. No admission, however donations are appreciated.

Indian Valley Community Band
