Hometown Days opens in Beecher Park Aug. 30

26th annual event features carnival, food and live music

Yorkville's 26th annual Hometown Days festival will open Thursday, Aug. 30, and continue through Sunday, Sept. 2, in Beecher Park at 908 Game Farm Road.

Everyone is invited to attend the fest, which is sponsored by the city and First National Bank. Admission is $2 after 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There is no admission charge on Thursday and Friday.

As in past years, this year's fest will feature carnival rides, food and musical entertainment the entire family can enjoy.

Fest highlights include the Ultimate Air Dogs Competition Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., baby contest Friday at 5:30 p.m: pet fest, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; live band karaoke, Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.; Black Dog Distillery Rum and Vodka Tasting, Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.; the Dempsey Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Pride and Joy Car Show, Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; carnival wristband specials, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.; and musical entertainment that will keep you dancing and singing all weekend long featuring Hi-Infidelity, 7th Heaven, Dixie Crush, Mike & Joe, and Citizen Way.
