Ham & Kumla Dinner

4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Leland School cafeteria, 370 N. Main St. Fundraiser hosted by Leland Town & Country Association for Fourth of July fireworks show. Menu includes ham, kumla (Norwegian potato dumplings), vegetables, Norwegian desserts and beverage. Cost is $10 per person. Carry-outs available. Tickets available at the door. Are You Curious About Medical Cannabis?

6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. Medical marijuana is now available in Illinois. Kirsten Velasco, a volunteer for Illinois Women in Cannabis, will discuss the laws, science, application process and patient experience. A question-and-answer period will follow. PHS Blood Drive

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the Plano High School Auxiliary Gym. Conducted by Plano High School Student Council. Community members should enter the gym through the athletic doors (Door 6) near the tennis courts. Eat a good meal and drink plenty of healthy fluids before donating. Sixteen-year-old donors must bring a Heartland permission slip signed in ink by a parent/guardian. Slips are available at sign-ups or online at www.heartlandbc.org. New Life for Old Bags

North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. American Legion Fish Fries
