Indian Valley Theatre has named the cast for its classic and comedic melodrama performances at the 130th annual Sandwich Fair. The shows will be directed by Kaitlyn Gradert and Sue Graham.
Audiences will again be treated to two classic melodramas chocked full of puns and jokes galore. The first is “Shootout at Sadie’s Saloon” by John Burkhart. The cast consists of Kendel Graham of Somonauk as Sadie Spencer; Darren Whaley of Newark as Dirk Devious, the Villain; Lacey Romanov of Plano as Clint Cactus, the Hero; Stephanie Sus of Genoa as Sally Spencer; Jessica Sus of Genoa as Hazel Hoochater; Linda Whaley of Newark as Prudence Purewater: and John Graham of Somonauk as Sheriff Jake Jones.
The second production is “The Beggar’s Secret or What Happened to the King?” written by Kaitlyn Gradert. The cast includes Brittany Watne of Leland as Princess Marie; Lacey Marten Plano as Prince Rowan; Caitlyn Roe of Plano as Claire; Michele Wade of Sandwich as Georgia; Ahren Lehner of Sandwich as Count; and Greg Peterson of Earlville as Beggar.
The melodramas performed in the Indian Valley Theatre tent on the east side of the fairgrounds, inside the Sandwich Fair, the week of Sept. 6 through 10. Showtimes will be announced later. Tickets cost $4 and can be purchased there along with popcorn and other snacks and drinks.
