The Plano School District 88 Board of Education and administration invite the public to attend a dedication ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Centennial School.

The board will unveil a plaque that will be placed in the vestibule of the administration office to honor the work of the late superintendent William “Bill” Woody.

Woody was a teacher, coach, counselor, principal and eventually superintendent of the district between 1974 and 2007. His vision and leadership led the district office to its current location at 800 S. Hale St., the former location of Bingaman School. He recommended the idea for Indian Valley Vocational Center students to build the administration office – a move that not only was a financial savings for taxpayers, but more important allowed the building trades students the opportunity to use the skills they learned in the classroom.

Everyone is invited to join Woody’s family for the ceremony, which will honor his years of dedication to the Plano School District and the staff and students of the community.
